about

Recorded in 1996 around the Lost Tyme II sessions by the Travelers Of Tyme (see: tyme.bandcamp.com ) and before Frodus went into Boombox Magnetica to record their re-known "Explosions" 7". The Jerks were Frodus members' S. Cinca and J. Hamacher "secret" garage rock project. Jonathan Kreinik who recorded the single, played farfisa organ (a mini-compact that was once owned by The Edgar Winter Group), and sang background vocals which led him to playing live with the band. Cory however didn't play on any recordings but he did join along for the only two raucous shows and fit the lineup perfectly. The first show was at Record Convergence in Fairfax, VA opening for Thee Flypped Whigs and the other at The Black Cat main stage opening for the Pris*Teens. The band in its short hellfire existence managed to break a guitar headstock, deceive D.C. that it was "their first American appearance" (the band claimed to be British) and devour hearty Black Cat meals before retiring into D.C. obscurity. The only other songs The Jerks recorded outside of these were a year prior around the Travelers of Tyme: Lost Tyme I sessions in which the band recorded 2 songs for a split 7" with The Impossible Five on Lovitt Records.
